Blackheath

Blackheath This listed building had a major extension and studio/gym added to the gardens. The landscaping was designed to meld these together, creating a soft sweep of grass planning around a new pool and patio. Stainless steel was used for a contemporary twist to the wall sculpture and soft corten steel blends with the planting. Larger tree specimens were used to gently screen the new studio and create a sense of enclosure, linking to the existing tree canopies. Service offered: Design, Landscaping

Brown Hart Gardens

CGLA have been commissioned to design 4 sculptural gateway structures for Brown Hart Gardens. Brown Hart Gardens is a raised public garden space immediately south of London’s Oxford Street. It sits on top of an electricity substation designed by Sir Stanley Peach, who built an enormous 950sq m roof on it and a domed gazebo with steps at either end for access. Currently there is a café to seat 50, and an assortment of seating areas and large planters filled specimen trees and perennials. The new sculptures aim to give the park a more iconic sense of identity that celebrate the Victorian era.
