Clamp Hill
A large sprawling site within the Green Belt and the Harrow Weald Ridge Area of Special Character allowed us to play with juxtapositions between a rigid linear and sculpturally organic approach. Strong repetitive movements of a linear language have long been a popular feature of the traditional British landscapes to create vistas, avenues and frames. In this case it serves to anchor the modular architecture within the landscape as well as defining spaces and courtyards between buildings whilst punctuating into the more informal wider landscape of the mature woodland.
