This small Beaconsfield garden, set within a semi-rural environment, originally lacked structure and interest. Following a kitchen renovation that introduced large bifold doors opening onto a compact patio, the outdoor space needed a redesign to create a more inviting and functional extension of the home.

The new garden features sculptural planting, controlled areas of greenery framed by steel edging, and a bespoke decked seating area positioned to catch the sun. The design introduces a balance between structured forms and softer textures, ensuring year-round visual appeal.

Creating Structure & Mid-Storey Interest

To enhance depth and layering within the garden, small trees were introduced to provide a mid-storey beneath the canopy of existing mature trees. A carefully selected specimen tree was planted to screen the rear boundary, offering privacy from neighbouring properties. Clipped sculptural forms anchor the design, while softer planting introduces texture and colour throughout the seasons.

Decked Seating Area & Subtle Lighting

A bespoke overhead structure was designed to frame a new decked space at the rear of the garden, creating a secluded retreat. The addition of a simple but effective lighting plan transforms the space in the evening, adding warmth and ambiance while highlighting key design features.

A Stylish & Private Outdoor Retreat

This contemporary redesign maximises the potential of a small and awkwardly shaped garden, transforming it into a functional and visually engaging outdoor space. The combination of structured planting, a private seating area, and soft illumination ensures that the garden remains an inviting retreat throughout the year, providing both a relaxing environment and a stunning view from within the home.
