This Pinner garden design was created to transform a previously underwhelming space into a cohesive, inviting family garden. The homeowners wanted a practical yet stylish outdoor space with flowing, organic shapes, a generous lawn, and thoughtfully curated planting to provide year-round interest.

Our design introduced softly curved lawns, natural stone pathways, and a planting scheme that balances structure with seasonal colour, creating a garden that feels spacious, welcoming, and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

Designing a Functional & Beautiful Outdoor Space

The focal point of this garden is the series of curved lawns, which create a natural flow and seamlessly guide movement through the space. These sweeping shapes define the different zones of the garden while ensuring the space remains open and interconnected.

The natural stone pathways, supplied by London Stone, complement the organic layout, enhancing accessibility while reinforcing the garden’s elegant aesthetic. These paths lead visitors through structured planting areas, providing opportunities to pause and enjoy the changing textures and colours throughout the seasons.

A carefully positioned terrace near the house offers a relaxed space for outdoor dining and socialising, making the most of the sun throughout the day. The spacious lawn, framed by a mix of architectural shrubs, perennials, and evergreen planting, provides a functional yet beautiful backdrop, perfect for family life.

Planting Scheme for Year-Round Interest

A key element of this project was the introduction of a planting scheme that would remain engaging across all seasons. Working closely with Deepdale Trees, we selected a variety of mature trees and structural planting to create a sense of enclosure and privacy.

• Evergreen shrubs and clipped topiary provide a strong framework, ensuring the garden retains its shape and structure even in winter.
• Ornamental grasses and perennials add movement and softness, responding dynamically to the seasons.
• Carefully chosen trees introduce height and focal points, reinforcing the garden’s natural flow.

This layering of planting elements ensures a rich and evolving garden throughout the year, while also supporting biodiversity and encouraging wildlife.

Refined Hard Landscaping with Natural Materials

To ensure longevity and visual harmony, we incorporated natural stone paving, supplied by London Stone, to define pathways and seating areas. The material’s subtle colour variations complement the surrounding planting and integrate seamlessly with the broader design.

The garden’s curved lines and organic forms were carefully planned to enhance the sense of movement and continuity, ensuring a modern yet timeless aesthetic that will evolve beautifully over time.
