This gorgeous site deep in the Chiltern Hills stands on an elevated site enjoying delicious views. The clients were in the process of a major renovation and asked CGLA for help to develop the gardens to compliment the scheme.
The brief was to create a garden in a contemporary style, whilst remaining in keeping with the setting. The garden is to be low maintenance and accessible, for family use and entertaining.
The CGLA design team created a careful arrangement of retaining walls and steps to provide access through the steep site, with great detailing to achieve the desired sleek aesthetic. Vertical wooden retaining structures were created, achieving a softer and more natural look that stone or brick, and this was paired with steps that appear to almost float in the space, leading down to a pool that was pre-existing, but required complete renovation. As part of the 3D design package, the team designed stunning lighting and planting to complement the scheme.
Once the designs were complete, the landscaping was carried out by the CGLA team, overseen at every stage by our Project Managers and Designers to check the installation was as planned and to capture the clients changes as the landscape emerged.
