CGLA designed the landscape for this elegant new-build residence, set on an elevated plot with sweeping views over the Chiltern Hills. The scheme delivers a series of versatile outdoor spaces for dining, lounging and entertaining, all anchored by immersive planting and a refined material palette that connects the house seamlessly to its surroundings.
Luxury Garden Design Brief
The brief called for generous, multifunctional entertaining areas, including a dining terrace with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for up to twelve guests, a level lawn for recreation, and ornamental planting that would create texture, colour and movement across the seasons.
Terraced Garden Design with Seamless Connections
Level changes across the site were embraced as a key design feature, helping to define distinct zones for entertaining and relaxation. Wide stone steps, flanked by deep planting beds, link the spaces and soften transitions between house and garden, grounding the new architecture in its landscape.
Key Features of This Elevated Luxury Garden
Lush banks of perennial planting and architectural grasses provide year-round interest, complemented by carefully placed feature trees and a contemporary water bowl for visual and acoustic impact.
The garden’s material palette was carefully chosen to echo the tones of the building, enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Subtle level transitions keep garden furniture discreetly below key sightlines, preserving uninterrupted views from the property’s expansive floor-to-ceiling windows.
