Highfield House
Private Residence
Location: Rural Buckinghamshire
Client: Private Client
Status: Design and Landscaping Completed
This gorgeous house has extensive grounds that needed a sympathetic redesign to better complement the house, and to accommodate an upgraded pool and pool building, retaining walls and water feature. A series of heavily planted mounds were created in a previously fallow area, both creating a beautiful meadow-type space with paths throughout, and utilising spoil from elsewhere on the site. The CGLA design team worked closely with the client to create a harmonious series of areas within the garden, that linked together well across the site. The design included a number of stunning large specimen trees within the overall scheme, including an entrance avenue and some individual stunning parrotias, which were selected by the client from suggestions tagged by our design team during a visit to some of our European nursery partners.
The overall construction and planting was carried out by the CGLA Landscaping team, working closely with the designers to ensure that every detail was delivered as the client had envisaged, and adjustments and changes along the way were dealt with in keeping with the overall plans.
This was a project involving sympathetic restoration and development in some areas, and “blue-sky” thinking in others, whilst working with extremely knowledgeable clients who wanted to get the garden they imagined, and enjoy the process! We think the results speak for themselves, and will continue to improve and develop over time.
