This striking riverside home in Henley faced a design challenge: the natural sight lines from the house were interrupted by parked cars, detracting from the beauty of the surroundings. The new garden layout reimagined the space to restore views and provide a more functional, elegant landscape.

Parking was discreetly repositioned with the addition of an oak-framed garage, moving vehicles away from the main frontage. In its place, a formal courtyard was created, enclosed by yew hedging and centred around a magnificent water feature, offering a sense of calm on arrival.

Terrace & Planting for Poolside Living

To extend the use of the garden, a new private sun terrace was introduced for poolside relaxation. This space allows for seamless movement between the house, pool, and garden, making it ideal for both quiet enjoyment and entertaining.

Soft, colourful planting throughout the scheme adds seasonal interest and breaks up the structure of the layout with texture and movement.

A Functional & Elegant Riverside Setting

This redesign not only resolved practical issues around access and parking but also created a cohesive, tranquil landscape in keeping with the home’s riverside location. Carefully balanced structure and planting result in a garden that feels both private and beautifully open to its surroundings.
