Project Description
Dukes Avenue
Private Residence
Location: Gerrard’s Cross
Client: Private Client
Status: Ongoing
This small garden is located along Dukes Avenue in Gerrard’s Cross. A small rectangular and relatively level plot was largely featureless with little privacy.
We created a contemporary design with a disciplined modular approach to give the garden more depth, allowing the creation of a series of distinct functional pocket spaces utilizing both the length and width of the garden.
An informal seating terrace and sunken firepit are nestled within ornamental planting closer to the house gives a sense of privacy and enclosure.
A bespoke overhead structure covers a main entertainment area with a long dining table that looks out onto a formal lawn which is enclosed by striking architectural roof formed trees.
The formal lawn is framed by a stone dry line that leads to the bottom of the garden to a secret seating area beneath some existing larger tree canopies.
The result is a more private and enclosed retreat with a series of distinct spaces to explore, relax and enjoy.
